Academic subjects are three dimensional continuums of disciplines of knowledge. The dimensions are time, degree of detail, and the integration of other disciplines. The disciplines are maintained by academic, government, and non-government systems. The sources of authority and maintainers of standards are academicians, researchers, inventors, and scientists. Some of those keepers of the disciplines are independents, or work for corporations and local, state, and federal governments. The systems work so well that no great idea, discovery, or innovation goes unpunished. Textbooks*, then, are merely snapshots taken at a certain width and depth.
Textbook sponsors and supporters are welcome.
Volunteers: We need people to find open textbooks.
Financial Sponsors: The money is used to update, enhance, redesign, format, print, peer-review, and maintain the textbooks (snapshots) in a textbook of your choice. Your return will be an acknowledgment in the sponsor section of the textbook, as well as a listing on the sponsorship website.
